A finished wedding highlight for your DaVinci Resolve workflow
Resolve is a superb place to finish a film, but the hours that hurt are the ones before that: logging every card, choosing the story and building the timeline. WeddingEditor takes on that wedding-editing job. Its AI editing turns your uploaded footage into a Highlight Reel of about 5 minutes and delivers a 1080p H.264 MP4 with a consistent finished look across cameras and real wedding audio balanced with music. Import it on the Media or Edit page, add Text+ titles or your logo if you want them, check the level on Fairlight, and export from the Deliver page.
The film arrives finished. Anything you do in Resolve afterwards is your own optional layer.

From WeddingEditor project to the Deliver page
- 1
Upload and pick Highlight Reel
Create the project, choose Highlight Reel and upload the files from every camera, drone clips included. Each file can be up to 5 GB, and there is no limit on how many you add. Footage from several cameras and shooters becomes one coherent wedding story.
- 2
Tell WeddingEditor what matters
Use the optional questions for the people, the must-include moments and anything to avoid, such as clips from a camera whose white balance went badly wrong. Pick the style and the audio approach so the first edit is close to what you would have cut.
- 3
Settle the edit
Processing typically takes 24 to 72 hours. Review the edit in the app and use up to two revision rounds by email before you open Resolve, so nothing you add later sits on a shot that is replaced.
- 4
Import, add your layer, deliver
Download the MP4, set the project to 1920x1080 at the file's frame rate, import it and build a timeline from it, then add titles and export on the Deliver page.
Optional Resolve steps on a finished highlight
The highlight arrives as one finished clip. These are the extras some studios still add before delivery.
Match the project before you import
Set the timeline resolution and frame rate in Project Settings to match the MP4 while the project is still empty, so Resolve never converts the file.
Titles with Text+
Drag a Text+ title from the Effects library onto a track above the clip for the couple's names, and style it in the Inspector.
Split the clip for one title
On the Edit page, add an edit point at a cut with the Blade tool so a lower third or a chapter title sits over one section only.
A loudness check on Fairlight
Open the Fairlight page and watch the loudness meter through the film, so the delivered file plays at a sensible level next to your other work.
Your studio signature
Add your logo or a short end card on black after the last shot, so the file the couple shares carries your name.
A subtle house look, only if you use one
WeddingEditor already works toward a consistent finished look across cameras and light. If every film you deliver carries a signature tone, apply it gently on a timeline node; a compressed delivery file breaks up under heavy moves.
What the Highlight Reel brings into Resolve
A single 1080p H.264 clip
The highlight is one MP4 at 1920x1080 in widescreen, with picture and sound together and no separate tracks or timeline data.
One film, not several cameras
Footage from different cameras, picture profiles and light is brought toward one consistent finished look, so the viewer is not jolted by every camera change.
Sound and music already balanced
Vows, speeches and laughter play with music, balanced by the audio preference you chose when you briefed the edit.
About 5 minutes, one per project
The Highlight Reel runs about 5 minutes and is the project's only edit.
Edit settled through revisions
Up to two revision rounds are included, requested by email, so a missing moment is fixed in the edit itself rather than rebuilt by you.
Resolve pages and what to do on each
| Page | What you do | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Media | Import the MP4 into the Media Pool | Change the project frame rate only while the project is still empty |
| Edit | Create a timeline from the clip, place titles and an end card | Keep the timeline at 1920x1080 so nothing is rescaled |
| Color | Optional: a light signature tone | Small moves only on a compressed delivery file |
| Fairlight | Check levels with the loudness meter | The mix is already balanced; you are only checking |
| Deliver | MP4, H.264, 1920x1080 | Watch the export once before sending it |
Where does DaVinci Resolve fit once WeddingEditor edits the highlight?
WeddingEditor does the wedding-editing work: it chooses the moments, gives the vows and speeches room and turns several cameras into one film. Resolve stays in your workflow for what you add as a studio: titles, an end card, a loudness check and the final export. The order of moments and the choice of shots come from WeddingEditor's AI editing, guided by your preferences and up to two rounds of revision notes.
It is not a Resolve project or timeline handed over by WeddingEditor; there is only the finished MP4. It is not a raw-footage edit in Resolve either.
DaVinci Resolve highlight questions
Can Resolve import the WeddingEditor MP4 directly?
Yes. It is a standard 1080p H.264 MP4, a format DaVinci Resolve can import. If playback stutters on an older machine, generate optimized media for the clip in the Media Pool.
Resolve asked me to change the project frame rate. Should I?
If the project has no timelines yet, yes: matching the project to the MP4 avoids a frame rate conversion. Set it before you build anything, because it cannot be changed once a timeline exists.
Will footage from my three cameras look like one film?
That is the aim. WeddingEditor works toward a consistent finished look across cameras and picture profiles, so you are not matching them shot by shot on the Color page. It can only use what was captured, so flag any badly exposed clips in the avoid question.
Can I get the individual shots instead of one clip?
No, only the finished MP4. Changes to the structure go through the revision rounds, and the same edit is revised.
Do I need to mix music on Fairlight?
No. The film already uses real wedding audio and music together, balanced by your audio preference. Fairlight is only for checking the level of the file you deliver.
How long until the highlight is ready?
Processing typically takes 24 to 72 hours after you start it, with no guaranteed turnaround, so plan your Resolve session for after the edit appears in the app.
