Keep the people who matter in the wedding film
The people who matter to the couple should matter to the edit. Tell WeddingEditor who deserves attention, from parents and grandparents to the best man, the maid of honor and close friends, and describe them so they can be recognized in your footage.
Every question is optional; naming people takes a few lines.

How to point WeddingEditor to the right people
- 1
Set the priorities before checkout
"What should we prioritize?" lets you lean the film toward The couple, Family & reactions, or Wedding party & friends, among others.
- 2
Name the people before processing
"Are there specific people you want us to feature?" is where you write who matters, one person or group per line.
- 3
Describe how to recognize them
Give each person a role and something visible: "the bride's grandmother in the green dress", "the officiant with the grey beard", "the groom's sister in the yellow jumpsuit".
- 4
Check the film, then ask for more
If someone matters more than the first edit shows, ask for more of them in one of your up to two revision rounds.
Why naming people changes the film
A beautiful film can still leave people out
A wedding film can be well paced and still miss the people the couple cares about most. Naming them is what keeps a parent or grandparent from disappearing behind dance-floor energy and drone shots.
Who to name
Parents, grandparents, siblings, the best man, the maid or matron of honor, the wedding party, children, close friends and any other family members who matter. If someone gave a toast, stood beside the couple or travelled a long way, they probably belong on the list.
Describe them the way a guest would
WeddingEditor has never met your couple's families. A role plus something visible, such as a dress colour, a hat or where they sat, turns a name into someone the edit can find across hundreds of clips.
Importance is not always visible
A particular parent, friend or ritual can matter enormously even when nothing about it looks special on camera. That is exactly the knowledge only you and the couple have, and the reason the question exists.
Pair people with their moments
If a person matters because of a moment, say both: the father's toast, the grandmother's dance, the flower girl's walk. Speeches have their own question, and must-have moments have theirs.
Only who was filmed
WeddingEditor works with what was captured. It cannot add a reaction from someone who was never on camera, so if a person matters, make sure their moments were filmed and uploaded.

Questions about featuring important people
How do I make sure parents and grandparents appear?
Name them in the specific people question and describe how to recognize them. See How do I make sure parents and grandparents appear?.
Do I need to tag people or sort clips by person?
No. You do not need to rename, sort or pre-select clips. Describe the people in words, and WeddingEditor works across the whole upload.
What if someone barely appears in the footage?
WeddingEditor can only use what was captured. If a person appears in a few clips, naming them helps those clips count, but it cannot create coverage that does not exist.
Can I ask for someone to be left out?
Yes. Use the avoid question, for example a guest the couple asked you not to feature.
How many people can I name?
There is no fixed number, but each answer can be up to 2,000 characters. A Highlight Reel of about 5 minutes has room for more people than a Social Teaser of about one minute, so put the most important first.
Does naming people cost extra?
No. The questions are part of ordering any edit.
