A Pakistani mehndi highlight, from the entrance to the last dance
The mehndi is usually the most colorful and musical night of a Pakistani wedding, held a day or two before the nikah or baraat. The bride often enters under a sheet of flowers or a dupatta carried by her brothers and cousins, relatives perform the mehndi rasm by touching henna to her palm and feeding her sweets, and both families take turns with choreographed dances, songs on the dholak and dhol. Upload the mehndi as its own project, name the dancers and the rasm, and WeddingEditor's AI editing makes a Highlight Reel of about 5 minutes or a Social Teaser.

How to get a highlight of the mehndi
- 1
Upload the mehndi night
Create a project for the mehndi and add all your footage, including stage cameras, roaming cameras and any audio from the sound desk. The night can run long; there is no limit on how many files go in.
- 2
Name the performers and the rasm
In the preferences, list the dance performances in order and which ones to feature, the relatives who did the mehndi rasm, and the bride's entrance. Describe the bride's and groom's outfits and say how much of the singing and the dhol you want.
- 3
Get the mehndi film
Pay or use a credit and start processing; it typically takes 24 to 72 hours. WeddingEditor's AI editing makes the edit, which appears in your project as a 1080p MP4. Up to two revision rounds by email are included.

What happens at a Pakistani mehndi, in order
Some families hold one mehndi for both sides, others a separate one for the bride and the groom. The sequence below is common.
1. Guests and decorations
Halls or homes are decorated with marigolds, colorful drapes and low seating, and guests often wear yellow, green and orange.
2. The entrances
The bride, and in joint mehndis the groom's family, enter with dancing, trays and the flower sheet.
3. The mehndi rasm
Relatives come up in turn to put a little henna on the bride's hand and feed her sweets, and in many families the groom's too.
4. Dances and songs late into the night
Rehearsed performances, dholak songs and open dancing usually fill the rest of the evening.
Every camera in one project
Upload clips from all cameras into the project as they are; you do not need to rename or pre-select.
Live music and real sound
The edit keeps the singing, the dhol and the DJ as you recorded them, with music in support, as your audio preference sets.

What is a Pakistani mehndi?
A Pakistani mehndi is a pre-wedding celebration where henna is ritually applied to the bride, and often the groom, by relatives, followed by an evening of songs and performances by both families.
It is not the mayun, the turmeric ritual that usually comes first, and not the dholki, the informal singing nights before the wedding. The bride's full bridal henna is often applied separately by an artist, not at the rasm.
Pakistani mehndi highlight questions
Can the mehndi have its own highlight?
Yes. Create a separate project for the mehndi and upload its footage. WeddingEditor's AI editing makes one edit, a Highlight Reel of about 5 minutes or a Social Teaser.
The performances were long. Will they all be in the highlight?
No; a highlight selects from them. Name the performances to feature, and keep the full routines for a longer film you cut yourself.
Can both families' mehndis go into one film?
Yes, if you upload both into one project and note which footage is from which side. For separate films, use two projects.
Will the songs be heard over the dancing?
The edit uses your recorded sound. Say in the audio question whether the singing or the dancing should lead each part.
Can I add my own titles afterwards?
Yes. Download the 1080p MP4 and finish it in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro.
Does WeddingEditor know which mehndi moments a family considers private?
It does not. Family protocol about the mehndi is for the bride's family to set. WeddingEditor's AI editing edits what you upload and keeps out what you name in the avoid question.
