NATURAL HIGHLIGHT REEL

A natural wedding highlight with room for the place to be heard

A natural Highlight Reel trades a dense run of moments for a few longer passages where the setting is allowed to be present. A common shape opens on the place itself, the field, the coastline or the house, with only its own sound, follows the people loosely through the morning, keeps the vows with the setting audible underneath, and gives the evening a slower, quieter ending. Across about 5 minutes that means fewer shots held for longer. Describe that pacing and the sounds you want kept in the preference questions, and WeddingEditor's AI editing builds the highlight from your footage.

Say where quiet is welcome. Without that note, quiet stretches can read as gaps to fill.

How to brief a natural highlight

  1. 1

Create the Highlight Reel and upload everything

Choose Highlight Reel as the project's single edit and upload the full day, including long establishing clips of the setting with their camera sound. Keep the tab open while the larger files transfer; if the connection drops, reselect the same files to continue.

  2. 2

Mark where the place should speak

Select Natural & Documentary-style and the audio approach that matches the day. In the moments question list the passages to keep, and add notes on where only ambient sound should play, such as the opening view or the walk to the reception.

  3. 3

Check the pacing, not just the content

Processing typically takes 24 to 72 hours. Watch the highlight in your project and ask whether it breathes. If it feels hurried, describe where you want it to slow down in one of your up to two revision rounds.

Moments a natural highlight must include

List these in the must-include question, and say where the sound of the setting should carry the moment on its own.

The place first

"Open on the misty meadow at 7 am with just the birds, before any people."

An ordinary morning moment

"Her dad making tea for everyone in the cottage kitchen, with the chatter."

Vows with the setting

"Keep the vows with the stream audible behind them; don't lose it."

Guests in the landscape

"Wide shot of guests walking across the field to the barn, footsteps only."

Live sound

"The two guitarists at dinner, the song they played as the sun dropped."

A slow ending

"End on the lanterns in the empty field, held, with the crickets."

What a natural highlight balances

Atmosphere against coverage

Holding a shot of the setting costs time that could show another guest. Natural highlights accept that trade; say how much of the film the place itself may take.

Ambient sound against speech

Voices still matter, but they sit inside the room sound rather than above it. Name the few lines that must be clear and let the rest blend.

Real light within one look

A grey afternoon and a golden evening should still feel different, because that change is part of the day. WeddingEditor works toward a consistent finished look across cameras so the highlight reads as one film without flattening the light the day actually had.

What stays in the full film

Complete speeches, every reading and the full evening belong in the longer film you deliver yourself; the highlight is the atmospheric short.

One edit of about 5 minutes

The Highlight Reel is about 5 minutes and is its project's only edit, delivered as a 1080p MP4 for any finishing you want in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro.

What is a natural Highlight Reel?

Each WeddingEditor project can produce one Highlight Reel, which runs about 5 minutes. The natural version uses fewer, longer shots and keeps the setting's light and ambient sound, made by WeddingEditor's AI editing from your footage and pacing notes.

Not a full-day film. Every speech and the entire reception stay in the longer cut you edit; the natural highlight distils the day's atmosphere.

Natural highlight questions

How do I stop the highlight feeling rushed?

Say it directly: ask for fewer, longer shots and name two or three places where only the setting's sound should play. Pacing notes are as useful as moment lists for this style.

Can it open with no people at all?

Yes, if you ask. Many natural highlights open on the landscape or the house. Name the clip you want first.

What if one camera caught better ambience than the others?

Say which camera or which clips hold the best room sound, so the highlight leans on the camera that sounded best. Several cameras still become one wedding story.

Will footage from different cameras look the same?

WeddingEditor works toward a consistent finished look so camera changes do not jump out. For a natural film, say in your notes that the real light of each part of the day should still read as it was.

Can I ask for it to slow down after delivery?

Yes. Up to two revision rounds are included; email where it should breathe more and the same highlight is revised.

A highlight that sounds like the place it happened

Upload the day, mark where the setting should be heard, and let the highlight move at the day's own pace.
