YORUBA WEDDINGS

A Yoruba wedding highlight that keeps the engagement's best moments

The Yoruba engagement gives a highlight plenty of story: the groom's friends flat on the floor, the alaga's teasing, the bride's veiled entrance, the cap placed on the groom's head and the parents' prayers. Add a church or mosque ceremony and a reception and there is more than 5 minutes can hold. You choose the beats and the faces in the preference questions, and WeddingEditor's AI editing cuts a Highlight Reel of about 5 minutes from what you uploaded.

One Highlight Reel per project. Each wedding day can also be its own project.

How to brief a Yoruba wedding highlight

  1. 1

Upload the days the highlight should cover

Choose Highlight Reel when you create the project and upload the engagement, and the church or reception if they belong in the same film. Files go in straight from the cards, without renaming.

  2. 2

    List the beats in order

Write the order you want in the moments question, for example "dobale, letters, bride's entrance, the fila, parents' prayer, church vows, reception dance-in". Name the parents and both alaga in the people question so they are not cut.

  3. 3

    Watch and refine

Processing typically takes 24 to 72 hours. Watch the highlight in your project and download the 1080p MP4. If a rite is missing, email a revision note from the link in the app; up to two rounds are included.

Must-include moments for a Yoruba highlight

The dobale

The groom and his friends prostrating before the bride's family, often the most memorable picture of the day.

The alaga at work

A short exchange where the alaga teases the groom's family, which gives the film its humor.

The veiled entrance

The bride arriving with her friends, then the veil lifted as she approaches the groom.

The fila

The bride placing the groom's cap on his head, a quick moment that is easy to lose if not named.

Kneeling for prayers

The couple kneeling before the parents for blessings.

Dancing

The couple dancing with both families once the rites are done, often with spraying.

What a good Yoruba highlight balances

Humor and solemnity

The engagement mixes laughter from the alaga with serious prayers. A highlight that keeps both feels like the day.

A crowded frame

Many moments happen in a packed space. Naming the key people helps the edit keep the right faces in shot.

Multiple outfits

The bride may change from the engagement attire to a church gown and a reception outfit. Describe each so the order is clear.

Speech under the drums

Talking drums and bands are loud. Say in the audio question which prayers or speeches should be heard clearly.

About 5 minutes

The Highlight Reel is about 5 minutes and each project produces one edit.

Faith in the edit

Christian families often bring a Bible among the engagement items and pray in a Christian way; Muslim families may include a Quran and Islamic prayers. Note which applies so the right moments are kept.

What is a Yoruba wedding Highlight Reel?

A Highlight Reel is one edit of about 5 minutes made from a project's footage. For a Yoruba wedding it usually condenses the engagement and, if included, the church or mosque ceremony and reception into the rites and faces the families care about most.

It is not the complete engagement, which can last many hours. Keep that for your own longer edit.

Yoruba highlight questions

Can the highlight start with the dobale?

Yes. Name it as the opening in the moments question.

Will the alaga's jokes be understood by WeddingEditor?

Not necessarily. Tell them which exchanges got the biggest laughs and roughly when, so the edit can include them.

Can the engagement and the reception share one highlight?

Yes, if both are uploaded to the same project. List the beats from each.

What if the fila moment is missing?

Ask for it in a revision note by email from the link in the app; each full edit comes with up to two rounds.

Should the introduction be in the highlight too?

Only if the couple wants it and you filmed it. Many families treat the introduction as a smaller, private meeting; if it is in the project, say whether to include it and which moment to keep, such as the two families greeting.

Will WeddingEditor add Yoruba songs?

Not a particular song. Talking drums and live Yoruba music you recorded stay in, with music in support as your audio preference sets. For one particular track, rework the audio yourself after you download the MP4.

Does WeddingEditor decide how much of the engagement customs to show?

No. How much of the prostrating, the letters or the gifts appears is the family's decision; WeddingEditor does not decide it. Name the moments they want in the preferences.
