NEPALI WEDDINGS

A Nepali wedding highlight led by the janti and held at the sindoor

A Nepali Highlight Reel usually moves from movement to stillness: the janti winding toward the bride's home behind the panche baja, the garlands at the swayambar, then the slower moments of the kanyadan and the sindoor, pote and tilhari. Upload the day into one project, list the moments in order, and WeddingEditor's AI editing makes a highlight of about 5 minutes following that order.

How to brief a Nepali highlight

  1. 1

Upload the day into one project

Create a Highlight Reel project and upload the footage from every event you want in it, from every camera. Files can go in without sorting.

  2. 2

Set the shape of the film

In the feel question, describe the arc, for example "lively through the janti and swayambar, then calm for the kanyadan and the sindoor". In the moments question, list one beat from each part, and name the people.

  3. 3

    Review it in your project

The edit typically arrives 24 to 72 hours after processing starts. Watch it, download the MP4, and if something needs to move, email notes from the app; up to two revision rounds are included.

Must-include moments for a Nepali highlight

List one beat from each part of the day, in the order it happened, with the names of the people in it.

The janti on the move

The panche baja leading the groom's party, the groom in daura suruwal and dhaka topi.

The welcome

The bride's family receiving the janti at the gate.

The swayambar

Both garlands going on, and the cousins' cheer.

The kanyadan

The bride's parents giving her hand, held for a beat.

Sindoor, pote and tilhari

The groom's hand at her parting, then the green beads of the pote placed around her neck.

Tika from the elders

Grandparents placing tika and blessing the couple.

What a good Nepali highlight balances

The procession and the ceremony

The janti brings color and sound; the ceremony brings meaning. Giving the procession a strong opening beat and letting the ceremony take most of the time is a common balance.

Community-specific moments

A Newar or Buddhist wedding may have rituals that do not appear in a Bahun-Chhetri ceremony. List them by name so they are not passed over.

Elders at the end

Tika and blessings from grandparents and elders often close the ceremony and give a natural ending before the bride's departure.

Faces and hands

The kanyadan and the sindoor are small physical gestures. Close shots of hands, followed by faces, carry them.

About 5 minutes, one project

The Highlight Reel runs about 5 minutes and each project produces one edit. If the family wants the ceremony from start to finish, that cut is yours to make.

Your sound

The highlight uses the panche baja and voices recorded in your files, and your audio preference sets how music sits with them.

What is a Nepali wedding Highlight Reel?

A Highlight Reel is the film of about 5 minutes that WeddingEditor's AI editing cuts from one project's footage. For a Nepali wedding it usually runs from the janti to the marks of marriage and the elders' blessings, following the moments and order you give.

It is not a film of the whole ceremony, and a project produces one Highlight Reel or one Social Teaser, not both.

Nepali highlight questions

Can the highlight open with the panche baja?

Yes. The highlight uses your recorded audio, so ask for the band to lead the opening in the audio question.

Can it include the engagement as well as the wedding?

Yes, if the engagement footage is in the same project and you say how much room it gets. For a separate film, use a separate project.

How do I make sure the pote is visible?

List it in the moments question and name the camera that was closest. The edit can only use what you filmed.

Can the highlight end on the elders' tika?

Yes. Write that ending into the moments or feel question; the AI editing follows your brief.

Can the highlight show a Newar or Buddhist ritual we filmed?

Yes, if it is in your footage and you describe it. Write its name, when it happened and who took part into the moments question; the AI editing relies on that description rather than on its own idea of the tradition.

What if I want a different balance after seeing it?

Email notes from the link in the app, for example "shorter janti, more of the tika". Up to two revision rounds are included.

Does WeddingEditor decide how the kanyadan or the sindoor is shown?

No. How those rites are shown is for the family and the priest to decide, and WeddingEditor does not decide it. Its AI editing follows the moments you list from your footage.
