FUN HIGHLIGHT REEL

A fun wedding highlight that saves its best for the reception

A fun Highlight Reel is weighted toward the night. A common shape covers getting ready and the ceremony briskly in the first part, lets one or two big laughs from the speeches act as the hinge, then gives the second half to games, the first song that filled the floor and the peak of the dancing, ending on a late-night image. Its length of about 5 minutes allows a few guest characters to recur. List those people and moments in the preference questions and WeddingEditor's AI editing builds the highlight from your footage.

Decide how fast you want the ceremony covered. A fun highlight still needs a moment of heart before the party.

How to brief a fun highlight

  1. 1

Create the project and upload the night

Choose Highlight Reel, the single edit of this project, and upload the whole day with particular care over the reception: every camera, every handheld clip from the floor.

  2. 2

Weight the highlight toward the party

Pick Fun & Energetic and Mostly music-led. In the moments question, list a short ceremony beat first, then the speech laughs, the games, the peak song and the late-night ending. Name two or three guests who should keep reappearing.

  3. 3

    Watch the energy curve

Processing typically takes 24 to 72 hours. Watch the finished highlight in your project: the energy should climb through the second half. Download the 1080p MP4, and use your up to two email revision rounds if the party arrives too late.

Moments a fun highlight must include

List them in order. A fun highlight works best when the energy keeps rising toward the end.

A quick heart

"From the ceremony, just the kiss and the guests cheering on the recessional."

The hinge laugh

"Best man's line about the camping trip and the bride's dad laughing so hard he cries."

The games

"Shoe game: the moment they both hold up the groom's shoe for 'who is the better cook'."

Floor-filler

"The second the band started 'September' and everyone ran onto the floor."

Recurring guest

"The groom's college friends in matching sunglasses, every time they appear on the floor."

Late ending

"End on the couple in the middle of the circle at midnight, shoes off."

What a fun highlight balances

Ceremony against reception

Many fun highlights spend under half their time before dinner. Say whether the ceremony gets a quick nod or a fuller moment.

Couple against guests

The guests bring the energy, but the couple should still appear in most of the big moments. Ask for both in the dance sections.

Music against speech

Mostly music-led lets music drive the highlight, but a couple of punchlines need the speech clearly heard. Name those lines.

What the longer film keeps

Full speeches, every dance set and all the games belong in the longer film you deliver yourself. The highlight keeps the funniest and loudest beats.

One highlight, about 5 minutes

A Highlight Reel is about 5 minutes and is the only edit of its project, delivered to your project as a 1080p MP4.

What is a fun Highlight Reel?

A Highlight Reel is the WeddingEditor deliverable of about 5 minutes, made once per project. A fun one moves quickly through the formal day and spends most of its time on the speeches, games and dancing, made by WeddingEditor's AI editing from your footage and the guests and moments you name.

Not the full reception film. Complete speeches and dance sets stay in the longer cut you edit and deliver; the highlight is the rewatchable short version.

Fun highlight questions

How much ceremony goes into a fun highlight?

As much as you ask for. Many videographers keep one or two ceremony beats, such as the kiss and the recessional, and let the reception carry the rest.

Can the highlight follow a few guests through the night?

Yes, if you name them. Describe each guest in the specific people question, and the edit can return to them across the reception.

Will the punchlines be audible over the music?

Ask for the speech lines you want heard clearly, and music makes room for them. Clarity still depends on your recording, so lines caught by a mic feeding a camera close to the speaker come through best.

My reception footage is dark. Will it work?

Dance floor light is often low. Point to your best-lit clips, such as moments under the uplighting, and WeddingEditor works toward a consistent finished look across the darker and brighter footage.

Can I revise the highlight if the party feels short?

Yes. Up to two revision rounds are included, requested by email, and the same highlight is revised to your notes.

A highlight that ends on the dance floor

Upload the reception from every angle, list the laughs and the floor-fillers, and let the highlight end on the dance floor.
