EMOTIONAL SOCIAL TEASER

An emotional wedding teaser that starts with a voice breaking

An emotional Social Teaser does not try to explain who anyone is. It opens on a sentence that cracks halfway, a father pausing in his toast or a sister laughing through tears, cuts to one or two faces reacting, and ends before the speech resolves. The viewer feels the weight of the day without the context, which is what sends them to the longer film. Ask for that opening and ending in the preference questions and WeddingEditor's AI editing cuts the teaser from your footage, delivered in widescreen.

One voice and one reaction are usually enough. A teaser that strings together four tearful speakers starts to feel like a montage of crying.

How to brief an emotional teaser

  1. 1

    Create a Social Teaser project

Select Social Teaser when you set up the project. It produces that one edit, so a full emotional highlight of this wedding would be a separate project with its own credit or purchase. Upload the speeches and the room cameras at minimum.

  2. 2

Choose the voice and the face

Pick Emotional & Cinematic, Balanced speech & music and family and reactions, then write two things: the exact half-sentence the teaser should open on, and the one person whose reaction should follow it. Add what to avoid, such as the punchline of a joke that would change the tone.

  3. 3

Watch it, then post it yourself

With processing typically taking 24 to 72 hours, watch the finished teaser in your project and download the MP4. You decide when the couple or the family see it; WeddingEditor sends nothing to them. If the wrong line opens it, use one of your up to two revision rounds.

Opening and closing beats for an emotional teaser

These notes fix the first and last few beats, which is most of what a teaser is.

Open mid-sentence

"Open on her dad saying 'and I just hope' and pausing. Don't let him finish the sentence."

Open on a laugh through tears

"Start with the maid of honour laughing at herself for crying, before the words."

The reaction

"Then the bride's mum at the front table, hand over her mouth."

Middle image

"Groom hugging his grandmother at the end of the aisle, one shot only."

Close unresolved

"End on the room applauding, cut before we see the couple's reaction."

What an emotional teaser needs

A clean, short line

The opening half-sentence has to be intelligible straight away. A camera fed from the venue microphone gives the teaser a voice that holds up without any explanation.

One face that says the rest

A single strong reaction does more in a teaser than several mixed ones. Pick the person whose face the family will recognise instantly.

An unfinished ending

Cutting before the speech lands or before the couple responds leaves the feeling open, which is the job of a teaser that points to a longer film.

Widescreen, no vertical cut

The Social Teaser comes as a 1080p widescreen MP4. There is no vertical version, so any phone-first crop is done in your own editor.

Its own project and credit

Because each project makes one edit, an emotional teaser and an emotional highlight of the same wedding are two projects, each with a purchase or a plan credit.

What is an emotional Social Teaser?

A Social Teaser is the shorter WeddingEditor deliverable and the single edit of its project. An emotional one is built from one voice catching and the faces reacting to it, cut by WeddingEditor's AI editing from the footage and notes you provide.

Not a vertical clip for stories. The teaser is widescreen; reformatting it for a vertical feed is something you do yourself after download.

Emotional teaser questions

Is it unkind to open a teaser on someone crying?

It depends on the family, which is why the choice is yours. Many videographers ask the speaker or the couple first. If a moment is too private, put it in the avoid question and pick a laugh-through-tears line instead.

Can a teaser use the toast audio if the speaker is not on screen?

Yes, if you ask for it. Write that the line should be heard over the faces listening rather than over the speaker, and name those faces.

Should the teaser show the couple at all?

Usually once, near the middle or end, so viewers know whose wedding it is. Some emotional teasers keep the couple off screen until the final beat; say which you prefer.

Will the teaser have music under the speech?

Usually, yes. A teaser leans on music for momentum, and with Balanced speech & music the broken line stays audible on top of it. Choose More speeches & voices if the words should dominate.

Can I get a highlight as well as the teaser?

Yes, as a second project. Each project produces one edit, so the highlight needs its own purchase or credit.

Open on the sentence they could not finish
