Wedding video sneak peek: an early look without an early night in the timeline
A sneak peek keeps a couple excited while the main film is in progress. With WeddingEditor you can order a Social Teaser, a short edit made by WeddingEditor's AI editing from the footage you upload, typically 24 to 72 hours after processing starts. If you only want to see for yourself how your footage cuts, the app also offers an optional sample made automatically by AI from a selection of your clips, which you watch in the app as a private preview rather than a file to send.
Creating an account is free; you only pay when you are ready to start an edit.
Two kinds of early look
Know which one is for the couple and which one is just for you.
Social Teaser: the sneak peek you send
A finished edit delivered as a 1080p MP4 you can share with the couple. It is the file to send, post or embed on your own site.
AI sample: a preview for you
A short automatic edit you watch in the app. It is not a download, so it is not meant for delivery.
Same upload for both
Both work from the footage you upload to the wedding project.

What is a wedding video sneak peek?
Photographers made sneak peeks a habit: a handful of images sent within days so the couple has something to share while the full gallery is edited. Videographers borrowed the idea. A video sneak peek is a short clip, usually a minute or less, sent soon after the wedding, often posted by the couple to their friends. It buys goodwill during a long editing queue and often brings in referrals. The challenge is that a sneak peek still needs someone to go through the footage and find the best seconds, at exactly the busy time after a wedding weekend. WeddingEditor's Social Teaser takes that job, so the sneak peek does not have to wait for a free evening. A good rule of thumb is to upload as soon as the cards are backed up, order the teaser, and spend the first few days after the wedding on client communication and the next shoot instead of the timeline. When the teaser lands, a quick title and a short note to the couple are all that is left.
Not the same as the private sample in the app, which is a preview for the videographer and cannot be downloaded.

Sneak peek questions
Can I send the AI preview to my couple?
No. The sample is watched in the app and cannot be downloaded. Send the Social Teaser instead.
Is a sneak peek the same as a trailer?
They overlap. A sneak peek is usually short and early; a trailer is a stylized preview of the full film, often with music and title cards. WeddingEditor offers the Social Teaser and the Highlight Reel as deliverables, and the trailer styling, music and graphics are yours to add.
Do you make a thumbnail for the sneak peek?
No. Grab a frame from the MP4 in your editor or video player for a thumbnail. A close moment with clear faces, such as the first look or the kiss, tends to make a better still than a wide establishing shot.
How fast can I send it?
Processing typically takes 24 to 72 hours after you start it. There is no guaranteed turnaround.
Can I get the sneak peek and the full highlight from one purchase?
No. Each purchase covers one deliverable, so the highlight is a separate project.
Does the AI sample cost extra?
Yes, it is a separate purchase from the full edit and does not count toward it or grant a credit. It exists so you can see how your own footage cuts before you commit to the full Social Teaser or Highlight Reel.
What if a sample fails?
You can try again without being charged again. A failed sample does not cost a second purchase, so a hiccup in processing does not stop you from seeing a preview.
Can I upload before I decide what to buy?
Yes. Upload first; you pay for the sample or the full edit afterwards. Every file must finish uploading, or be deliberately left out, before checkout, and the browser tab needs to stay open while files transfer.
Is my footage locked after I pay?
Yes. Once the project is paid for, the footage is locked so the edit is made from exactly what you uploaded.
Will WeddingEditor contact the couple?
No. WeddingEditor never sends anything to your couple. The sneak peek reaches them only when you decide to send it.
