Wedding love story video: telling the couple's story from the day

A love story video tells how two people got here, not only what happened on the wedding day. WeddingEditor works from the wedding footage you upload, so the story it can tell comes from that day: the letters read in the morning, the vows, the speeches about how they met. You describe the story and the feel you want in your preference answers, and WeddingEditor's AI editing makes a Highlight Reel of about 5 minutes that leans into it. Interview or pre-wedding footage can be uploaded too if you shot it.

Creating an account is free; you only pay when you are ready to start an edit.

What a love-story highlight can draw on

The story comes from what you filmed. These are the usual sources.

Words spoken on the day

Vows, letters and speeches often carry the how-we-met story. The edit keeps the original sound so those words can lead.

Interviews you filmed

If you recorded a couple interview, upload it in the same project and say in preferences that it should anchor the film.

A feel you describe

Preference answers on the film's feel, such as quiet and intimate rather than energetic, shape the edit.

Moments only they would notice

List the small things the couple told you about, like a song or a place, so the edit knows they matter.

What is a wedding love story video?

A love story video is a wedding film structured around the couple's relationship rather than the order of the day. Filmmakers often build it from audio: an interview about how they met, letters exchanged in the morning, or vows that tell the story. The visuals then move between the wedding day and, sometimes, footage from a pre-wedding shoot. In some regions the term also means a pre-wedding film shot weeks before the wedding at a separate location. Either way, the editing goal is to find the spoken line that makes everything else make sense.

Not the same as a pre-wedding shoot plan or a love story slideshow of photos. WeddingEditor edits the footage you upload into one wedding edit.

Building a love-story edit with WeddingEditor

  1. 1

    Choose Highlight Reel

A love-story structure needs the room of a highlight of about 5 minutes.

  2. 2

Upload the day and any interviews

Add the wedding footage plus any interview or letter-reading clips in the same project. The edit is made from exactly what you upload.

  3. 3

    Write the story in preferences

Use free-text answers to tell the story in a few sentences, name the people involved and describe the feel.

  4. 4

    Review and refine

After payment the edit typically arrives in 24 to 72 hours. Use revision rounds if the story leans the wrong way.

What supports a story-led edit

Long free-text answers

Preference answers can be up to 2,000 characters each.

Film feel and priorities

Preferences on film feel, audio approach and priorities shape the edit.

Spoken words kept

Original sound stays; music stays under interviews and vows as your audio preference sets.

Exactly your footage

Once you pay, footage is locked, so the edit uses exactly what you uploaded.

AI editing makes it

WeddingEditor's AI editing makes the edit.

Up to two rounds of revisions

Email notes from the link in the app.

Limits for love-story edits

No footage is invented

The story can only use what you uploaded. There is no stock or generated footage.

No pre-wedding shoot service

WeddingEditor edits; it does not plan or film anything.

One edit per project

A separate pre-wedding film would need its own project.

Collecting a story you can edit

Interview the couple before the wedding, separately if possible. Ask how they met, what they noticed first and what they are nervous about. A few honest sentences give the edit its backbone.

Ask the couple to write letters to each other and film the readings in the morning. Letters often say what interviews do not, and they are recorded in the same light and place as the rest of the day.

Listen for the story in the speeches. Best friends and parents often tell the how-we-met story better than the couple, and the original sound keeps it intact.

Write the story down in your own words. A short summary of who these two people are helps the edit choose which lines to keep.

Keep a list of the names, places and dates the couple mentions in conversation before the wedding. Including a few of them in your preference answers helps the edit pick out those details when they come up in speeches and letters.

Treat the love story as a thread rather than a separate segment. A single sentence from an interview can return several times across the day, and naming it in your preferences tells the AI editing which line the film should keep coming back to.

Pricing

A love-story highlight is a normal wedding edit at $119 one-time for one wedding. A separate pre-wedding edit would be its own project and its own purchase or credit.

Love story video questions

Can WeddingEditor make a pre-wedding love story film?

If you upload pre-wedding footage as its own project, the edit is made from that footage as a Highlight Reel or Social Teaser. WeddingEditor does not film or plan shoots.

Can I combine interview footage with the wedding day?

Yes. Upload both in the same wedding project and explain in your preferences how the interview should be used.

Will music be added to make it feel romantic?

Yes. Music supports the moments in the edit, and the audio preference sets the balance: More speeches & voices, Balanced speech & music, or Mostly music-led. Real wedding audio such as vows, speeches and laughter can carry the story, with music in support.

How do I tell WeddingEditor the couple's story?

Write it in the free-text preference answers, up to 2,000 characters each. Name people and places and quote lines you want heard.

Is the story chosen automatically?

No. Paid edits are made by WeddingEditor's AI editing, guided by your preferences.

Can I change the story after seeing the edit?

Yes, within the included revision rounds (up to two) with every full edit.

Can I upload a letter reading filmed in the morning?

Yes. Upload it in the same wedding project and mention it in your preferences if it should carry the story.

Can the love story include old photos or home videos?

WeddingEditor accepts video and audio uploads. If you have archival video files, upload them and explain how they should be used; nothing that you did not upload will appear.

Will the couple see the love story video before I approve it?

No. WeddingEditor never sends anything to your couple, so you review the edit first.

How do I choose between Highlight Reel and Social Teaser for a love story?

A love story needs time for spoken words, so the Highlight Reel of about 5 minutes is the better fit. A Social Teaser suits a short post.

Tell their story with their footage

Upload the day, write the story in your own words, and review the highlight.
