LEAD AND SECOND SHOOTERS

Two shooters, one wedding project, one finished edit

When a second shooter covers the groom's prep or a second ceremony angle, their footage has to reach whoever edits, usually on a drive handed over at the end of the night or days later. WeddingEditor puts both shooters' footage in the same project: teammates signed in to your WeddingEditor team add their files through a team upload link, and WeddingEditor's AI editing builds one finished edit from everything uploaded.

The second shooter's footage problem

Drives change hands

Collecting cards or drives from a second shooter adds a step, and an edit cannot start until it is done.

Two sets of file names

Two shooters' cameras can produce clashing file names, and someone has to sort out what belongs where.

The lead still does all the editing

A second shooter doubles the coverage but not the editing capacity, so the lead videographer ends up with twice the footage to cut.

WeddingEditor gives a lead and a second shooter one shared destination. The lead creates the project; the second shooter, signed in to the same WeddingEditor team, uploads through the team upload link. Neither needs to sort, rename or prepare clips, apart from keeping file names unique within the project. WeddingEditor's AI editing then works from the combined footage, so the extra coverage turns into a fuller film instead of extra editing nights.

How a two-shooter wedding runs

This is the part of WeddingEditor built for more than one person adding footage to a wedding.

Team upload link

Teammates signed in to your WeddingEditor team add files to the project through a team upload link that WeddingEditor sets up for you.

Everything in one project

Footage from every camera and both shooters goes into the same wedding project.

No preparation needed

Nobody has to rename files, sort them by camera, make proxies or pick clips before uploading.

Unique names only

The one rule: file names must be unique within the project, so clashing camera names need a quick fix.

Upload completes before checkout

Every file must finish, or be deliberately left out, before the lead checks out and starts processing.

One brief for both shooters

The lead answers the preference questions once for the wedding, so the edit reflects one set of priorities no matter who filmed which moment.

Questions about working with a second shooter

How does my second shooter get their files into my project?

They sign in to your WeddingEditor team and use the team upload link WeddingEditor sets up for you.

Can a freelancer who is not on my team upload?

Only teammates signed in to your WeddingEditor team can use the team upload link. There are no guest upload links.

Do we need to line up the two cameras' clips before uploading?

No preparation is required before upload: no renaming, sorting by camera or proxies. File names must be unique within the project.

Who pays for the edit?

The project owner pays with One Wedding or a plan credit once every file has finished uploading.

Does more footage mean a longer edit?

The deliverable stays the same: a Highlight Reel of about five minutes or a Social Teaser. More coverage gives the edit more to choose from.

Can both of us see the finished edit?

The edit is delivered to the wedding project, where it can be watched in the app and downloaded as an MP4. The lead decides what is delivered to the couple.

What happens if one shooter's upload is incomplete?

Every file must finish uploading, or be deliberately left out, before checkout. Check both shooters' files in the project before you pay, because footage is locked once the project is paid for.
