Final Cut Pro wedding editors: hand off the cut, keep the magnetic timeline for finishing

Final Cut Pro makes cutting fast once you know what you want, but every wedding still begins with importing cards into a library, keywording clips and hunting for the best take of each moment. WeddingEditor handles the wedding edit itself: upload the footage, say what matters in the preference questions, and WeddingEditor's AI editing makes a finished film. Bring the 1080p MP4 into Final Cut Pro to add titles and your look.

For Mac-based wedding filmmakers who like Final Cut Pro and want fewer weekends spent in it.

An account is free; you pay or use a credit when an edit starts.

What still takes time in Final Cut Pro

Libraries and events for every wedding

Import, create events per part of the day, and keep the library on a drive with room to spare. It is housekeeping before editing.

Keywording and favorites

Marking favorites and keyword collections for vows, rings and speeches is how Final Cut editors find moments, and it means watching everything first.

Multicam clips for the ceremony

Building and checking multicam clips from several cameras is precise work before you can choose a single angle.

With WeddingEditor, the library you build in Final Cut Pro holds a finished edit, not hours of raw clips. Upload the original files to a WeddingEditor project in the browser, without events, keywords or multicam clips. Use the preference questions to say what you would have keyworded: the vows, the father's speech, the grandparents, the first dance. WeddingEditor's AI editing makes the film, and you finish it on the magnetic timeline with your own titles and look.

Where WeddingEditor sits next to Final Cut Pro

Final Cut Pro keeps the parts you enjoy; WeddingEditor takes the part that eats the weekend.

A small library instead of a huge one

Import one 1080p H.264 MP4 instead of every card from the day. Your drives fill up more slowly.

Keywords become instructions

Write the moments and people you would have tagged into the must-include questions.

Roles and titles stay yours

Add your titles, lower thirds and audio roles in Final Cut Pro on top of the delivered film.

Revisions without relinking

Up to two revision rounds per full edit, requested by email; the same edit is revised and you import the new file.

Footage from any mix of cameras

Mirrorless bodies, phones, drones and a static ceremony camera can all go into one project.

Questions from Final Cut Pro users

Do I get an FCPXML or a Final Cut Pro library?

No. WeddingEditor delivers a finished 1080p H.264 MP4, which imports into Final Cut Pro like any other clip.

Can I upload footage that is already in a Final Cut Pro library?

Upload the original camera files rather than the library itself. The preference questions replace your keywords and favorites.

Will my audio roles carry over?

The MP4 has one mixed soundtrack: real wedding audio and music balanced by your audio preference. Add roles for anything you lay on top in Final Cut Pro.

Can I change the cut after importing it?

Yes, through your revision rounds. Email the change and the same edit is revised; import the new file.

How long does the edit take?

It typically takes 24 to 72 hours after processing starts. There is no guaranteed turnaround.

Do I need a fast Mac for WeddingEditor?

No. The edit happens in WeddingEditor; your Mac uploads the files and later finishes a single MP4.

What about the clips I would normally reject in the browser?

Leave them in the upload. Footage from the moments around a ceremony, a shaky phone clip of a grandparent laughing, or a slightly soft shot of the father tearing up can matter more to the film than a perfect detail shot. Use the avoid question only for clips that must never appear.

Keep Final Cut Pro for the part you enjoy
