Destination weddings: hand off the edit before you fly home
A destination wedding stretches over travel days, a welcome party, the ceremony and often a farewell event, and the footage comes home on a stack of cards. Editing usually waits until you are back, behind whatever booked while you were away. With WeddingEditor you can upload the wedding from your laptop wherever you are, in the browser, and start the edit so WeddingEditor's AI editing is working on it while you travel.

Why destination weddings are hard to turn around
The edit waits until you are home
Travel days, jet lag and the next trip all sit between the wedding and the moment you can open a timeline.
Lots of footage from several events
Destination weekends include more than one event, so there is more to sort through than a single-day wedding.
Connections are unpredictable
Hotel and venue internet varies, and large uploads can be interrupted partway through.
WeddingEditor's upload works from a browser, so the handoff can happen from a hotel or an airport lounge. There is no limit on file count or total project size, and each file can be up to 5 GB, which suits long multi-event coverage. If a connection drops, you select the same original files again and the upload continues. Once every file is in, you pay or use a credit and AI editing finishes the edit, typically 24 to 72 hours after processing starts.
What matters when you upload on the road
These are the parts of the upload and project workflow that a travelling videographer leans on.
Browser upload
Files go straight from your laptop to cloud storage in the browser; there is nothing to install.
No total size limit
A project has no limit on file count or total size. Each file can be up to 5 GB.
Recover from dropped connections
Keep the tab open while files transfer. After an interruption, select the same original files again to continue.
Drone and 4K clips welcome
Upload drone and 4K footage from the trip; the finished edit is delivered at 1080p.
Ready in your project
Watch the finished edit in the app and download it whenever you are back at your desk.
Projects ready before the trip
Create the project and pick the deliverable at home, so the only job on location is uploading the cards once they are full.
Uploading a destination wedding from the road
- 1
Create the project before you travel
Set up the wedding project and choose the deliverable, so you only need to upload once the cards are full.
- 2
Upload on the best connection you have
Start the upload where the connection is strongest and keep the tab open. If it is interrupted, reselect the same files to continue.
- 3
Brief the edit on a multi-event weekend
In the preferences, list the events that matter, the people to feature and moments to include, then start processing.
- 4
Review once you land
Watch the edit in the app, send revision notes if needed, and download the MP4 to deliver.

Can I upload from a hotel connection?
Yes, from any browser. Keep the tab open while files transfer; if the upload is interrupted, select the same original files again to continue.
Is there a limit on how much footage I can upload?
There is no limit on the number of files or the total size of a project. Each file can be up to 5 GB.
Do I need to upload everything before the edit starts?
Yes. Every file must finish uploading, or be deliberately left out, before you check out and start processing.
How long until the edit is ready?
Processing typically takes 24 to 72 hours, with no guaranteed time. Starting it from the road means it can be waiting when you get home.
Can I upload drone footage?
Yes. Drone and 4K clips can be uploaded; the finished edit is a 1080p MP4.
Can the couple's planner or guests upload their clips?
No. Only teammates signed in to your WeddingEditor team can add files, through a team upload link that WeddingEditor sets up.
What if my upload stops halfway through an airport layover?
Open the same project again, select the same original files, and the upload continues. Keep the tab open while files transfer, and check out only when every file shows as finished.
