A korovai highlight, from the baking songs to the sharing
The korovai is a large, richly decorated round loaf that has been part of Ukrainian weddings for centuries. In many families it is baked before the wedding by married women, sometimes called korovainytsi, who sing traditional songs while they work, and it is decorated with dough birds, braids, flowers and periwinkle sprigs. It is presented to the couple at the celebration and later cut and shared with the guests. Practice varies by region and family. To get a highlight of it, upload the korovai footage as its own WeddingEditor project, name the people and moments in the preference questions, and WeddingEditor's AI editing makes a Highlight Reel or a Social Teaser.
If you filmed the baking with its songs, the singing is kept as recorded. Music supports the real sound, balanced by your audio preference.

How to get a highlight of the korovai
- 1
Upload the korovai footage as its own project
Create a project and upload what you filmed: the baking, if you were there, the loaf being carried in, its presentation to the couple, and the moment it was cut and shared. Upload every file without sorting it.
- 2
Name the women and the moments
In the people question, name the women who baked or carried the korovai and how they relate to the couple, with what they wore. In the must-include question, list the moments in order, from the first song to the sharing.
- 3
Receive and refine
For this Ukrainian event film, pay with One Wedding or a plan credit and start processing; it typically takes 24 to 72 hours. The finished edit is delivered to your project, and you have up to two revision rounds by email.

How the korovai usually appears at a wedding, in order
This is a common pattern. Who bakes, how it is decorated and when it is shared varies between regions and families.
1. Baking with songs
In many families the korovai is baked in the days before the wedding by married women, often relatives, who sing traditional songs for the couple as they work.
2. Decoration
The loaf is decorated with shapes made of dough, often birds that stand for the couple, along with braids, flowers, cones and green periwinkle.
3. Presentation
At the celebration the korovai is brought in, frequently on an embroidered rushnyk, and presented to the couple.
4. Sharing
Later the korovai is cut, often by a designated person, and shared among the guests as a sign of the couple's good fortune.
Not the same as bread and salt
The bread and salt greeting at the door is a separate custom. Many weddings have both, so say in your notes which one you mean.
One project, one edit
The korovai project produces one edit, a Highlight Reel of about 5 minutes or a Social Teaser, and uses one purchase or plan credit.
Parts of the korovai and what to note in the preferences
| Part | What it looks or sounds like | What to note in the preferences |

| Presentation | The couple receiving the korovai | "Feature the couple's faces." |
| Sharing | Cutting and handing out pieces | "Show the grandmother getting the first piece." |
What is a korovai?
A korovai is a traditional Ukrainian wedding bread, a large decorated loaf baked for the couple and shared with the guests. A korovai highlight is a short edit of its baking, presentation and sharing, made from the footage you upload.
It is not the karavai bread and salt used to greet the couple at the door in some weddings, although the names are similar, and it is not the wedding cake.
Korovai video questions
Can the korovai be its own highlight?
Yes. Upload the korovai footage into its own project; it produces one edit and uses one purchase or plan credit.
I only filmed the presentation, not the baking. Is that enough?
A short presentation and sharing can suit a Social Teaser well. Upload what you have and list the moments that matter.
Will the baking songs be kept?
Yes, as your camera recorded them. The audio preference sets the balance of real sound and music.
How will WeddingEditor know who baked it?
Only from your notes. Name each woman and her relationship to the couple in the people question.
Can the korovai be part of a full wedding highlight instead?
Yes. Upload it with the rest of the day into one project and list the korovai as a must-include moment.
