THAI WEDDINGS

Shaping a Thai wedding highlight around the morning rituals

A Thai wedding gives a highlight a ready-made structure: a still, sacred start with the monks, noise and laughter at the khan maak procession and the door gates, a tender center at rod nam sang, and a party at night. A Highlight Reel of about 5 minutes cannot hold all of it, so the brief decides which moments lead. Upload the day, name those moments and people in the preference questions, and WeddingEditor's AI editing makes the highlight.

How to brief a Thai wedding highlight

  1. 1

Put the whole day in one Highlight Reel project

Upload the morning ceremonies and the evening reception together so the edit can draw on both. Clips from your main camera, second angle and drone can go in without being renamed or trimmed.

  2. 2

Set the order and the leads

In the moments question, list the ceremonies in order and mark the two or three that matter most. Name the people the highlight should keep returning to, such as the couple's parents and grandparents. Pick an audio balance that lets the chanting and a blessing or two be heard.

  3. 3

    Watch, download and refine

Allow typically 24 to 72 hours after you start processing, with no guaranteed turnaround. Watch the highlight in your project, download the MP4, and email notes for either of your up to two revision rounds.

Must-include moments for a Thai wedding highlight

The monks' blessing

A short stretch of chanting and the moment a monk sprinkles water over the couple.

The procession arriving

The khan maak trays carried in, the long drum and the groom's friends dancing toward the house.

The last gate

The groom finally passing the gold gate after the cousins have had their fun.

The mongkol placed

An elder placing the joined headpieces on the couple before the water pouring begins.

Parents pouring water

Each parent pouring water over the couple's hands and leaning in to speak a blessing.

A night-time beat

A toast, the first dance or the couple in their evening clothes, so the film ends on celebration.

What a good Thai wedding highlight balances

Sacred and playful

Merit-making and rod nam sang are calm and respectful, while the procession and the door gates are noisy and comic. A highlight that keeps both shows the day's real character.

Many blessings, few seconds

During the water pouring, dozens of guests may bless the couple one at a time. Choosing the elders who must be seen, and letting the rest pass quickly, keeps the highlight moving.

Two looks, one day

Couples often change from Thai dress to Western clothes for the evening. Mention both so the highlight can show the change rather than only one half of the day.

What stays for your own film

The full chanting, every gate and every blessing belong in the longer film you cut yourself. The highlight takes a moment from each.

One highlight, sound and music balanced

This project returns a single Highlight Reel of about 5 minutes, made by WeddingEditor's AI editing, with the chanting, the drums and music balanced by your audio preference.

Moments, why they matter, and how to brief them

MomentWhy it mattersHow to brief it
Monks chantingOpens the day with its spiritual weight"Ten seconds of chanting, then the water blessing."
Khan maakThe first burst of music and movement"Groom's aunts carrying the trays, with the drum."
Door gatesComedy and family teasing"Only the gold gate; skip the first two."
Sin sod blessingThe parents' approval, shown with care"Parents' hands over the tray, no amount."
Rod nam sangThe emotional center of the morning"Grandmother, then both mothers, then a quick montage."
ReceptionThe celebration that ends the day"End on the first dance."

What a Thai wedding Highlight Reel is

A Highlight Reel is WeddingEditor's edit of about 5 minutes that follows the day through its key moments. For a Thai wedding it usually moves from the monks' blessing through the procession and gates to the water pouring and the evening, using the moments you name.

It is not a record of every ceremony in full and not the Social Teaser. It is one edit per project.

Thai wedding highlight questions

Can a Thai wedding highlight skip the evening reception?

Yes. Upload only the morning ceremonies, or say in the brief that the reception should be left out, and the highlight stays with the traditional rites.

How many door gates should the highlight include?

Usually one or two is enough in a highlight. Name the gate with the best reaction, for example the gold gate, and say the rest can be left out.

Can the highlight open with the monks?

Yes. Write that the film should start with the merit-making and say whether the chanting should be heard under it.

Will guests' spoken blessings be audible during the water pouring?

Only if your cameras picked them up. If one blessing matters, say who gave it and roughly when, and choose More speeches & voices.

The ceremonies happened at her family's home and the party at a hotel. Does that matter?

Not for the upload; both go into the same project. Say in the brief which location each part of the day was in, so the edit can keep the morning and evening in order even if the clip names do not show it.

Can I add my own titles and finishing after the highlight arrives?

Yes. Download the 1080p MP4 and finish it in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro.
