ERITREAN WEDDINGS

An Eritrean wedding highlight built around the guayla and the family

A highlight of an Eritrean wedding has about five minutes to hold a celebration that can last for hours: the bride in her zuria, a calm moment from the ceremony, the couple's entrance under elilta, blessings from the elders, and the guayla circle at full strength. Upload the footage to a WeddingEditor project, list the moments in the order they happened, and WeddingEditor's AI editing makes the Highlight Reel and delivers it to your project.

One Highlight Reel per project; a melsi on another day can be its own project.

How to brief an Eritrean wedding highlight

  1. 1

    Upload the whole celebration

Add every camera's footage from preparation to the last dance. There is no limit on the number of files, so you do not need to trim anything first.

  2. 2

    List moments, then people

In the must-include question, list the moments in order: the dress, the ceremony, the entrance, the blessings, the guayla. In the people question, name the elders and friends who should be seen.

  3. 3

    Watch and refine

Choose Highlight Reel, pay or use a credit, and start processing. Watch the edit in the app, download the 1080p MP4, and send revision notes by email if a moment needs more weight; up to two rounds are included.

Must-include moments for an Eritrean wedding highlight

The zuria

The bride in her white zuria, with the tilfi embroidery visible, before she leaves for the ceremony.

The ceremony

One or two calm moments from the church or mosque, within what the clergy allowed.

The entrance

The couple walking in while the room fills with elilta.

The elders' blessing

Grandparents or parents blessing the couple, with their words audible.

The guayla at its peak

The couple in the middle of the circle, friends lifting the groom, the circle closing around them.

What a good Eritrean wedding highlight balances

Calm and celebration

The ceremony is usually solemn and the reception loud. A highlight that moves from one to the other, rather than mixing them, keeps the day's shape.

The guayla as the backbone

Because the guayla runs through so much of the reception, short moments of it can link the other parts of the highlight together.

Voices that matter

Elders' blessings and speeches are often the most valued words of the day. Ask for speech to be favored when they speak.

About five minutes, one per project

A Highlight Reel is about 5 minutes long and is the single edit of its project.

What to keep for a longer film

Full ceremonies, long speeches and the whole guayla belong in a longer cut you make yourself from your footage.

What is a Highlight Reel of an Eritrean wedding?

It is a film of about 5 minutes that follows the wedding through its strongest moments, made by WeddingEditor's AI editing from the footage you upload and the moments you list. Each project produces one Highlight Reel.

It is not a full record of the celebration. Complete ceremonies and every speech belong in a longer film you edit yourself.

Eritrean wedding highlight questions

Can the highlight end on the guayla?

Yes. Say so in the preferences, for example "end on the couple in the middle of the guayla circle", and the AI editing will build toward it.

Will the elders' blessings be audible?

If your cameras recorded them clearly, yes. The edit keeps the original sound; ask for speech to be favored during the blessings.

Does WeddingEditor decide what is appropriate to show from the ceremony?

No. WeddingEditor edits the footage you upload and follows your notes. What may be shown from the church or mosque, and anything the family would rather keep private, is their decision; write it in the avoid question.

Can the melsi go in the same highlight?

If its footage is in the same project, it can, but a melsi on another day often works better as its own project and its own film.

What if the ceremony and reception were on different days?

Upload both days into the same project if you want one highlight across them, and list the moments from each day in order. If the family wants each day as its own film, use a separate project for each, with its own purchase or plan credit.

Does the couple receive the highlight from WeddingEditor?

No. It arrives in your project. You download the MP4 and decide what reaches the couple, and you can finish it in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro first.
