CHINESE WEDDINGS

A Chinese wedding highlight that gives every part of the day its moment

A Chinese wedding highlight has to fit a very long day into about 5 minutes: the noise of the door games, the quiet of the tea ceremony, the vows if there was a church or registry ceremony, and the banquet's entrances and toasts. The order usually tells the story by itself, from the groom fetching the bride in the morning to the last yam seng at night. Upload the day as one WeddingEditor project, choose Highlight Reel, and use the preference questions to name the elders and the moments that must survive the cut. WeddingEditor's AI editing makes the reel and delivers it to your project.

How to brief a Chinese wedding highlight

  1. 1

Upload the whole day to one project

A single Highlight Reel can only draw on the footage inside its project, so bring in the bride's home, the groom's home, the ceremony and the banquet together. Include the second camera's files as they came off the cards. If the connection drops, keep the tab open and select the same original files again to continue.

  2. 2

    Rank what matters most

In the prioritize question, the usual picks for this kind of day are Family & reactions and The couple, with Reception & dancing if the banquet was lively. Then, in the free text questions, list the moments that must be in the reel in the order they happened, and name the elders the family will look for. Choose an audio balance that leaves room for the toasts and the MC.

  3. 3

    Watch, download and send notes

Buy One Wedding or spend a plan credit, then start processing; expect it to take typically 24 to 72 hours. Watch the finished reel in the app and download the 1080p MP4. You get up to two revision rounds by email on this same reel if an elder is missing or a moment runs too long.

Moments to name for a Chinese wedding highlight

Put these in the question about moments that absolutely need to be included. Short, specific lines are easiest to follow.

The groom at the door

"Groom and groomsmen arriving at the bride's block, one food challenge, the red packets pushed under the door, and the door opening. A few seconds of each, not the whole game."

The first look at home

"The groom lifting the bride's veil in her parents' living room, and her mother's reaction behind them."

Tea for the elders

"One clear shot of tea served to each set of parents and both grandmothers, plus the moment the gold bangles go on."

Leaving home

"The bride walking out under the red umbrella held by her brother, and the cars leaving for the groom's home."

The vows

"Church vows at 2 pm. Keep the 'I do' from both of them and the ring exchange."

The banquet peak

"The couple's entrance in the red qun kwa, the father of the bride's speech in Cantonese, and the third yam seng, the loudest one."

What a good Chinese wedding highlight balances

These are editorial choices for you and the couple. The edit follows the balance you describe.

Noise and quiet

The door games and the banquet are loud and crowded; the tea ceremony and any vows are slow and close. A reel that keeps both feels like the day. Say in the brief which quiet moments must not be rushed.

Both families

Many weddings hold a tea ceremony at each family's home, so the bride's and the groom's relatives each expect to see themselves. If one side's tea was filmed only by your second shooter, say so, so it is not overlooked.

Morning light to ballroom light

Morning footage is often from small apartments or houses with mixed window and indoor light, and the banquet is usually under stage lighting in a hotel or restaurant hall. WeddingEditor works toward a consistent finished look across those rooms and that stage light, and you can still add your own finishing after download.

What to keep for your own longer film

A highlight cannot hold every elder's tea, every course and every speech. If the family wants the tea ceremony or the speeches in full, cut those yourself from your footage, or make a separate WeddingEditor project for an event highlight.

About 5 minutes, one reel

The Highlight Reel runs about 5 minutes and is the only edit the project produces. It is a 1080p widescreen MP4 made from what you uploaded by WeddingEditor's AI editing.

What is a Highlight Reel of a Chinese wedding?

It is an edit of about 5 minutes that carries the key moments of a Chinese wedding day in the order they happened, made by WeddingEditor from the footage you upload. A project makes one Highlight Reel, shaped by your notes on people, moments and sound.

It is not the full documentary of the day, the complete tea ceremony or every banquet speech; those are longer pieces you cut yourself. It is also not a Social Teaser, which is a shorter, separate deliverable chosen as its own project.

Chinese wedding highlight questions

Will every elder from the tea ceremony appear in the highlight?

Only if you ask, and only if the time allows. A tea ceremony can involve many relatives, so list the ones who must appear in the people question, and accept that a 5-minute reel shows the rest briefly or not at all.

Can the highlight include both the church service and the tea ceremony?

Yes. Upload both and say how to weigh them, for example "vows and rings from church, then the parents' tea at both homes". The edit follows the proportion you set rather than choosing one tradition over the other.

Can the speeches in Cantonese or Mandarin be kept?

Yes. The highlight uses the sound your cameras recorded, so a speech in Cantonese, Mandarin, Hokkien or English can stay if it was captured clearly. Name the speakers you want heard in the speeches question.

The banquet was a different day from the tea ceremony. Can they still be one highlight?

Yes, if the footage is in the same project. Upload both days to that project and note the dates in your brief so the order is clear. If the family wants them as separate films, create two projects instead.

Can I get a teaser too?

A project makes one edit. For a Social Teaser of the same wedding, create a second project, upload the footage again, and buy or use a credit for it.

What if the reel misses the bangles moment?

Use a revision round. Email your notes from the link in the app, for example "add the bride's mother putting on the gold bangles, around 9:40 am", and the same reel is revised. Each full edit includes up to two rounds.
