Wedding video storyboard: plan the film, then hand it off
A wedding video storyboard is a plan for the film made before anyone presses record: which scenes open it, which moments carry it, how it ends. You cannot upload a storyboard into WeddingEditor, and the app does not read sketches or templates. What it does have is a set of optional preference questions about the film's feel, the speech and sound balance, the people and moments that matter most and what to avoid. A storyboard turns into very good answers, and WeddingEditor's AI editing uses those answers to make the edit.

From storyboard to edit
Opening and closing written down
Your planned opener and final beat become must-include moments the edit can build toward, which gives the whole edit a direction.
Key characters named
The people your storyboard follows, a sibling or a grandparent, become the specific people the edit centers.
Moments in priority order
A storyboard's panels translate into a ranked list of moments: the ones that must be there and the nice-to-haves.
Exclusions that protect the story
Panels you cut from the plan, and anything the couple asked to leave out, go into the things to avoid.
What a storyboard is for wedding video
In film production a storyboard is a sequence of sketches or frames that shows each planned shot in order. Wedding videography cannot be fully storyboarded because the day is live and unrepeatable, so wedding storyboards are looser: a page that lists the scenes in the order the film should play, the audio that carries each section, and the handful of shots the couple cares about. Some videographers build them from a planning call with the couple, others from the timeline the planner shares. The value comes twice: on the day it tells you what to capture, and in the edit it is the brief. When someone else edits, a clear storyboard is the fastest way to share your intent. It also helps you notice gaps early: if a panel depends on a moment the timeline leaves no time for, you can adjust the plan or the coverage before the day rather than discovering the hole in the edit.
Not the same as a storyboard template file. WeddingEditor does not import storyboard templates, shot lists or sketches; you write the plan into the preference answers.
Turning a storyboard into a WeddingEditor brief
- 1
Decide the deliverable
A storyboard for a long film becomes a Highlight Reel of about 5 minutes; a storyboard for a short piece becomes a Social Teaser. One project, one edit.
- 2
Shoot to the plan, then upload everything
Upload all footage from every camera after the wedding, without pre-selecting clips. Footage you shot outside the plan is still useful, because the day rarely follows a storyboard exactly.
- 3
Copy the storyboard into the preferences
Write the opening, the voices that carry the film, the moments in order of importance and the exclusions. Free-text answers can be up to 2,000 characters each.
- 4
Check the edit against the plan
Processing typically takes 24 to 72 hours. Compare the edit with your storyboard and use the included revision rounds (up to two) for anything that went off plan.

Things to avoid
Record what the couple does not want shown.
Long answers
Each free-text answer can be up to 2,000 characters, and nothing is invented for questions you skip.

Up to two revision rounds
Up to two rounds of revisions by email come with every full edit.
Where a storyboard does not translate
No file import
Storyboard PDFs, sketches and template files cannot be uploaded as instructions.
Only what you filmed
A panel that was never shot cannot appear. The edit uses your uploaded footage only, so mark missing panels in your answers.
No titles, music or graphics
Text cards and animated titles from your storyboard are added in your own editor after download.
No full-length structure
The edit is a Highlight Reel of about 5 minutes or a Social Teaser, so a storyboard for a long documentary film needs trimming to its key beats.

Wedding video storyboard questions
Can I upload my storyboard to WeddingEditor?
No. There is no storyboard upload. Write the plan into the optional preference answers, which guide the AI editing.
Is there a wedding video storyboard template?
WeddingEditor does not provide one. A simple structure works well: opening, getting ready, ceremony, portraits, reception, ending, and for each, the audio and the shots that matter.
How detailed should a wedding storyboard be?
Detailed enough to name the moments and voices the film depends on, loose enough to survive a live day. One page is usually enough.
Do I need a storyboard to use WeddingEditor?
No. Every preference question is optional. A storyboard simply makes your answers sharper.
What if the day did not follow the storyboard?
Note what changed in the preferences, for example a rained-out first look moved indoors, so the edit does not look for footage that does not exist.
Will the edit follow my storyboard order exactly?
Write the order you want and use the revision rounds if the first cut differs. The edit is made by WeddingEditor's AI editing, guided by your answers.
Is a storyboard the same as a shot list?
No. A shot list is what to capture on the day; a storyboard is how the film should play. They work well together.
Does WeddingEditor write a script from my storyboard?
No. It does not write scripts or narration. The film is built from the footage and sound you recorded.
What should the first section of a wedding storyboard say?
Name the opening image or line, where the audio comes from, and the mood. Many films open on something quiet, such as a letter, a hand being held or the venue at first light, before the day speeds up. Writing that down gives the edit a clear starting point.
Can the storyboard include music cues?
Yes. Note them in your preferences, and the audio preference sets how much music supports them.
