LOG wedding footage: flat clips in, one finished-looking wedding film out

You shot the ceremony in LOG to protect the bright window behind the couple, and the reception on a second body in a standard profile because the light was changing too fast to think about it. Now half your clips look flat and grey and half look finished, and a wedding film has to make them feel like one day. Upload the LOG and the standard clips together to one WeddingEditor project. Its AI editing chooses the moments worth keeping from both and works toward a consistent finished look, so the couple watches a wedding, not a change of picture profile.

What happens to the LOG part of your wedding

LOG is a capture decision. The film should not feel like one.

Flat clips do not stay flat in the story

The vows you protected with LOG are used for what they hold: the couple's faces and the officiant's words, as part of a film that works toward one finished look.

LOG and standard clips in the same scene

When the A camera ran LOG and the B camera ran a standard profile on the same toast, both angles stay available for the edit to choose between.

The highlights you protected

LOG is often chosen for bright windows, white dresses and sunlit lawns. Those are the moments that should land well in the finished film.

The moment matters more than the profile

A strong reaction recorded in a standard profile is not passed over because another camera ran LOG. The choice is about the story.

What LOG wedding footage is, and why it complicates the edit

LOG is a picture profile that records a flat, low-contrast image so more highlight and shadow detail survives in camera. Most current mirrorless and cinema bodies offer one, under names such as S-Log, C-Log, V-Log or Apple Log. Wedding videographers use it where the dynamic range is hard: a ceremony against a bright window, a beach at noon, a white dress in direct sun. The cost comes in the edit. LOG clips need to be brought to a finished look, and in a typical wedding they sit beside clips from other bodies that recorded a standard profile. A film that cuts between the two without care feels like it keeps changing. WeddingEditor treats picture profiles as part of normal wedding production and works toward a consistent finished visual experience across them.

Not a grading or LUT service. If you finish with your own look, apply it to the delivered film in your editor.

How to hand off a wedding shot partly in LOG

  1. 1

    Upload the original clips

Add the LOG and the standard-profile files as they came off the cards. You do not need to apply a LUT, make proxies, rename or sort by camera first.

  2. 2

    Choose the deliverable

A Highlight Reel of about 5 minutes for the fuller story, or a Social Teaser of about a minute that makes the viewer feel the wedding immediately.

  3. 3

    Brief the people and moments

Use the preferences to name must-include moments such as the vows or the father's speech, the people who matter and anything to avoid.

  4. 4

    Receive and revise

The finished 1080p MP4 typically arrives 24 to 72 hours after processing starts, with up to two revision rounds if you want a different emphasis.

Why LOG does not have to slow the hand-off

Different picture profiles are expected

Footage may be captured on different cameras with different picture profiles, indoors and out, before and after sunset.

A consistent finished visual experience

WeddingEditor works toward a consistent finished look rather than making the viewer feel every camera or profile change.

No prep step

No renaming, proxies, sorting or pre-selection before upload.

Every body in one project

Upload footage from several cameras into one wedding project, with no limit on the number of files.

Your preferences steer the story

The film feel, the audio approach, the people and the must-include moments you set shape the edit.

Limits to plan around

No LUT or grade is promised

The aim is a film that feels consistent. If you have a house grade, apply it to the delivered MP4 in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro.

Exposure mistakes stay mistakes

LOG gives latitude, not magic. A badly underexposed LOG clip can still be noisy, and the edit will lean on better coverage where it exists.

1080p delivery

The finished film is a 1080p widescreen H.264 MP4, whatever resolution the LOG clips were recorded at.

Not an editable timeline

You receive a finished film, not a project file with your LOG clips on a timeline.

Questions about LOG wedding footage

Can I upload LOG footage without applying a LUT first?

Yes. Upload the original clips. You do not need to convert them, make proxies or pre-select anything before the upload.

Half my wedding is LOG and half is a standard profile. Will it look mismatched?

The film works toward a consistent finished look across cameras, profiles and lighting, so the viewer should feel one wedding rather than a profile change at every cut.

What about my own LUT or signature grade?

The film is delivered as a finished MP4. If you have a house look or a favourite LUT, apply it to that MP4 in your own editor.

Which LOG profiles can I use?

LOG from different camera brands is a normal part of wedding production, and footage from different cameras and picture profiles can go into the same project. Upload the clips as recorded.

Should I shoot speeches in LOG?

That is your call as the shooter. Speeches indoors often have steadier light than a ceremony by a window, so many videographers keep LOG for scenes where highlights are at risk.

Is LOG footage bigger to upload?

It depends on your codec and bitrate. Each file can be up to 5 GB and there is no total size limit for a wedding project.

Can I ask for a different look in a revision?

Revision requests are for editorial changes such as more of a person, more of a speech or removing a clip. Up to two revision rounds are included with the full edit.
