# Wedding intro: the first seconds that decide whether anyone keeps watching

The wedding intro is the opening of the film: the first moments, where a line from the vows, a reaction or a sweep of the venue sets the tone for everything that follows. WeddingEditor does not add a separate intro or title sequence. What it gives you is the opening of the film itself: the first moments of the Highlight Reel or the Social Teaser, built from the strongest material of the day. For intro ideas to add to a finished edit, see [wedding video intro ideas](https://www.weddingeditor.ai/wedding-video-intro/).

## What a wedding intro is

In a wedding film, the intro is the opening sequence before the story settles into the day. It does three jobs: tells the viewer whose wedding this is, sets the mood, and gives them a reason to keep watching.

Not the same as: Not the same as the reception introduction, when the couple and wedding party are announced into the room. That moment can appear in the film, but it is rarely the opening.

## How a WeddingEditor film opens

1. **The film is chosen** A Highlight Reel has a fuller beginning, middle and ending. A Social Teaser opens with a strong hook and moves fast.
2. **The strongest material leads** The opening does not have to be the earliest footage. It can start with a line from a speech, the first kiss or a reaction, then move into the day.
3. **Your preferences shape the tone** Emotional and cinematic openings give moments room; fun and energetic ones start with movement and celebration.
4. **You review and adjust** If you want a different opening, say so in one of the two revision rounds included with every full edit.

## What makes an opening work

- **A voice before a face**: A few words from the vows or a letter over quiet footage can pull the viewer in before the couple appears.
- **Place, briefly**: Drone or gimbal footage can establish the venue, but the opening should not become a venue commercial.
- **A promise of emotion**: A reaction or a laugh in the first seconds tells the viewer what kind of day this was.
- **Pace that matches the film**: A teaser can open on its most energetic beat; a highlight can afford to start slower.

## What WeddingEditor does not add

- **No separate intro deliverable**: The intro is the opening of the Highlight Reel or Social Teaser, not a product of its own.
- **No separate intro or title sequence**: There are no intro templates, title sequences or logo animations. Add a title card in your own editor if you use one.
- **No footage that was not shot**: The opening uses what was captured on the day.

## What a wedding film costs

Every Highlight Reel and Social Teaser has its own opening. One Wedding is $119 one-time for one wedding; monthly plans add wedding credits for regular work. See the [full price list](https://www.weddingeditor.ai/pricing/).

- One Wedding: $119 one-time for one wedding

## Wedding intro questions

### How long should a wedding intro be?

Usually well under a minute in a highlight film, and a few seconds in a teaser. See [how long a wedding intro should be](https://www.weddingeditor.ai/faq/how-long-should-a-wedding-intro-be/).

### Should a wedding intro be in chronological order?

No. A film can open with its strongest moment and then move back to how the day began.

### What footage works best for a wedding intro?

Real sound from the day, reactions, close details and a short establishing shot of the place. Avoid a long run of decor.

### Can I ask WeddingEditor for a different opening?

Yes. Use a revision round to ask for a different opening line, more of the vows up front or a quieter start.

### Is the intro the same as a wedding teaser?

No. The intro is the opening of a film. A teaser is a short film of its own; WeddingEditor's Social Teaser runs about one minute.
