# Choose how your wedding film should feel

Pick one of four directions for the film: Emotional & Cinematic, Fun & Energetic, Romantic & Elegant, or Natural & Documentary-style. The choice shapes pacing, emphasis and which moments get room to breathe, as guidance for the edit rather than a rigid preset.

## Where the style choice comes in

1. **Create the project** Start a wedding project and choose a Highlight Reel or a Social Teaser. The style applies inside whichever film you chose.
2. **Answer "How should your film feel?"** Before checkout, pick the one of four styles that best matches the couple and the day.
3. **Match the audio to it** The audio preference works alongside the style: a Natural & Documentary-style film often pairs with more real voices, a Fun & Energetic one with more music-led momentum.
4. **Add specifics in your own words** The open questions before processing take what a style cannot: people, speeches, must-have moments and what to avoid.

## What each style changes in the edit

### Emotional & Cinematic

More room for emotion, reactions, vows, family and atmosphere, with a cinematic build and meaningful pauses. Moments are allowed to land before the film moves on. Choose it for a couple who will want to feel the day again, not just see it.

### Fun & Energetic

Greater emphasis on movement, laughter, the wedding party, dancing and celebration, with faster pacing and energetic transitions between moments. It suits a loud reception, a big wedding party and a couple who would rather laugh than cry.

### Romantic & Elegant

Greater emphasis on the couple, graceful pacing, intimate interactions, visual polish and elegant movement. Romantic moments get the space; the film feels composed rather than busy.

### Natural & Documentary-style

Greater emphasis on events as they happened, real interactions, natural audio and spontaneous moments, with less overtly stylized storytelling. It suits couples who want the day as it was, not a trailer of it.

### Guidance, not a preset

The styles influence the edit; they do not behave like rigid formulas. An Emotional & Cinematic film can still include a funny toast, and a Fun & Energetic one still keeps the vows that matter. The wedding's own material decides the details.

### Choose for the couple, not the portfolio

The right style is the one the couple would pick, which may not be the look you lead with on your website. If you are unsure, the couple's own words about their day are usually the best guide.

### Want something more specific?

If a style is close but not quite it, describe a wedding film you love as a style reference: its pacing, its feel and how much speeches carry it.

## The four styles at a glance

| Style | More room for | Pacing |
|---|---|---|
| Emotional & Cinematic | Emotion, reactions, vows, family, atmosphere | Cinematic build, meaningful pauses |
| Fun & Energetic | Laughter, wedding party, dancing, celebration | Faster, energetic transitions |
| Romantic & Elegant | The couple, intimate interactions, polish | Graceful, elegant movement |
| Natural & Documentary-style | Events as they happened, natural audio | Less stylized, spontaneous |

## Questions about style preferences

### What do the style preferences change?

Pacing, emphasis and which moments get room. Each of the four styles leans toward different moments and a different rhythm. See [What do the style preferences change?](https://www.weddingeditor.ai/faq/what-do-the-style-preferences-change/).

### Can I combine two styles?

No. You pick one, the closest match. Describe the rest in the open questions or as a style reference, for example "documentary feel, but give the vows room".

### What if I do not choose a style?

Nothing is assumed for a skipped question. WeddingEditor edits from the wedding's own material and your other answers.

### Does the style change the length of the film?

No. The Highlight Reel is built around about five minutes and the Social Teaser around about one minute, whichever style you choose.

### Is a style the same as a style reference?

No. A style is one of four built-in directions; a reference is your own description of a film you love. They work together.

### Can I change the style after delivery?

Changes in emphasis, such as more energy in the reception or more room for the vows, can go into one of your up to two revision rounds.
