# What makes a good wedding highlights edit?

A good wedding highlights edit passes five tests: the people who matter to the couple are in it, the important words can be heard, it tells a story rather than playing the day in file order, its pace suits the wedding, and it ends on a moment that lands.

Of the five, people and words are the ones couples notice first. A father's reaction or a line from the vows often matters more than the most beautiful drone shot.

Pace is a matter of the wedding, not a rule. An intimate elopement can breathe; a big reception can move fast. Slow motion should have a reason.
