# DaVinci Resolve wedding template, or a finished edit you bring into Resolve

A DaVinci Resolve wedding template gives you a timeline, titles and placeholders, but you still have to find every good moment in hours of footage and drop it in. WeddingEditor works from the other end. You upload the raw footage from the day, and WeddingEditor's AI editing returns a finished Highlight Reel or Social Teaser as a 1080p H.264 MP4. You can import that MP4 into DaVinci Resolve and add your own titles, grade and music on top. WeddingEditor does not provide Resolve templates or project files.

## What you hand off and what comes back

The edit arrives as one file, ready to sit on a Resolve timeline as your base layer.

- **A finished cut instead of an empty timeline**: Instead of a template with gaps to fill, you receive a complete edit of the wedding: either the Highlight Reel, which runs about 5 minutes, or a Social Teaser. It is the structure you would otherwise build by hand inside Resolve.
- **One 1080p MP4**: The delivered file is a 1080p H.264 MP4 in widescreen. Resolve imports it like any other clip, so you can place it on V1 and build your finishing passes above it.
- **The original sound of the day**: Vows, speeches and room tone stay as they were recorded. Music in the edit follows your audio preference, and you can keep adjusting the edit in Resolve.
- **A project you can download again**: The edit stays in your WeddingEditor project, where you can watch it in the browser and download the MP4 again later if you need a fresh copy for a new Resolve project.

## What a DaVinci Resolve wedding template is

A DaVinci Resolve wedding template is a prebuilt project or set of Fusion titles, transitions and placeholder tracks that a videographer opens in Resolve and fills with their own footage. Templates speed up the look of an edit: lower thirds for names, an opening title card, a consistent transition style. They do not choose clips. The slow part of a wedding edit is still watching every camera angle, picking the moments that matter, cutting speeches down and pacing the whole day into a few minutes. A template sits on top of that work; it never replaces it. A finished edit from a service is the opposite kind of help: it handles the selection and structure and leaves the look for you to finish.

Not the same as: Not the same as a finished edit. A template is a container you fill; WeddingEditor returns a filled cut that you can then style with any template you like.

## How to get a Resolve-ready wedding edit from WeddingEditor

1. **Create a wedding project** Sign up, create a project for the wedding and choose the deliverable: a Highlight Reel or a Social Teaser. Each project produces one edit.
2. **Upload the raw files in your browser** Upload the video and audio files straight from your cards or drive, from every camera you used. There is no need to rename, sort or pre-select clips first.
3. **Tell the AI editing what matters, then start** Answer the optional preference questions about the feel of the film and the people and moments to prioritize, then buy One Wedding or use a plan credit and start processing.
4. **Import the MP4 into Resolve** Processing typically takes 24 to 72 hours. Download the MP4, bring it into DaVinci Resolve and apply your template's titles, grade and music on top.

## What WeddingEditor does before the edit reaches Resolve

- **Takes every camera at once**: Footage from several cameras goes into one wedding project, so the editor sees the whole day rather than a single angle.
- **No file prep**: You upload raw files as they came off the cards; renaming, sorting by camera and making proxies are not required.
- **Large uploads**: There is no limit on the number of files or the total size of a project, and each file can be up to 5 GB.
- **Made with AI editing**: Every full edit is made by WeddingEditor's AI editing and published to your project.
- **Up to two revision rounds**: If something is off, email your notes from the link in the app and the same edit is revised, twice if needed.
- **Plays nicely with Resolve**: The MP4 imports into DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro for your own finishing.

## What WeddingEditor will not do inside Resolve

- **No templates or project files**: WeddingEditor does not ship .drp projects, Fusion titles or transition packs. You bring those yourself.
- **Not instant**: Processing typically takes 24 to 72 hours, and there is no guaranteed turnaround time.
- **It works with what was captured**: The edit cannot create a reaction that was never filmed or an angle that does not exist, so cover the moments that matter.

## Template in Resolve vs a finished edit from WeddingEditor

|---|---|---|
| Choosing the moments | You watch and select every clip | The AI editing selects and cuts from your upload |
| Structure and pacing | You build it around the template | Delivered as a finished Highlight Reel or Social Teaser |
| Titles and lower thirds | Included in the template | Added by you in Resolve afterwards |

## DaVinci Resolve wedding template questions

### Does WeddingEditor give me a free DaVinci Resolve wedding template?

No. WeddingEditor does not provide Resolve templates, free or paid. It provides a finished wedding edit as a 1080p MP4, which you can import into Resolve and finish with any template you already own.

### Can I download a DaVinci Resolve wedding project from WeddingEditor?

No. There is no .drp project or timeline export. You download one MP4 file of the finished edit and place it in your own Resolve project.

### Can I add wedding titles in Resolve on top of the WeddingEditor edit?

Yes. The MP4 is a normal video file, so Fusion titles, lower thirds and text sit above it on the timeline like on any other clip. WeddingEditor itself does not add titles.

### Will the edit match my Resolve timeline settings?

The file is 1080p, 1920 by 1080, H.264, in widescreen. Set your Resolve timeline to match, or scale it if your timeline is larger. There is no 4K or vertical version.

### Can I grade the WeddingEditor edit in Resolve?

You can grade the MP4 in Resolve, but grading a compressed delivery file gives you less room than grading the original camera files. Many editors grade lightly on the final cut or use it as a guide for their own timeline.

### Is the edit done automatically?

No. Every full edit is made by WeddingEditor's AI editing and published to your project. Your preference answers shape it.

### Does WeddingEditor work on a PC or a Mac?

It runs in the browser at app.weddingeditor.ai, so you upload and download from whichever computer runs Resolve.

### How do I ask for changes before I finish in Resolve?

Every full edit includes up to two revision rounds. Email your notes from the link in the app and the same edit is revised before you start your Resolve pass.
